Storage for Your Business
Have you ever looked at your warehouse or office storeroom and thought how much more productive it would be if the space were occupied by people instead of objects? Think of what you could use it for -- expanding operations, enlarging office space, housing new departments. After all, with the high price of land, it would only be reasonable to make full use of it in order to make the purchase or rental price worth it.
Many businesses today are taking advantage of self storage facilities. Point-of-sale items, pharmaceutical products, textile, non-toxic chemicals, surplus stocks, office equipment, imported or exported non-perishable goods and others are being kept in these storage areas. Thus, companies are discovering how much more productive they can become by utilising that extra storeroom space. What was once a huge room that stocked items could be transformed into a production facility or a new office space. This also means they no longer have to pay for the security guards who have to guard the storeroom all day and night. For some, this also means less expenses for office space rentals.
A typical self-storage facility offers rooms of different sizes: the size of a big walk-in closet; of the bedroom of a young child; of a one-car garage; or of a garage that houses two vehicles. The walls of each space are usually made of corrugated metal and the door is typically a roll-up metal door. The tenant alone has the key to the lock; even the owner of the entire storage facility does not have access to any rented space. The whole facility is guarded day and night, and tenants can access their items seven days a week on extended hours. More modern storage buildings have controlled access systems for maximum safety. Multi-storey buildings have elevators and forklifts, and loading services are usually given for free. As the self-storage industry is a rapidly growing sector, most businesses find that their monthly rental costs come at very reasonable prices. They also find it very quick and easy to increase or lessen the space that they are renting. They find it convenient to stop using the facilities, as self-storage units are paid for by month, not by year. Most self-storage companies also offer transport and packaging services to help businesses transfer their goods efficiently.
